The Pininfarina-styled aluminum bodywork is reminiscent of the Ferrari racing models of the 1960’s, in particular, the Ferrari 156 Grand Prix driven by the late Phil Hill who won the 1961 Formula One World Championship. This exterior design captures Ferrari’s extensive racing history down to the smallest details. The front air intakes are considerably larger than those found on the Ferrari F360 (the F430's predecessor). The F430 has raised Enzo-style taillights and a vented rear engine cover, these are only two minute aspects, which contribute to the F430 having a completely different look than the previous F360 model.

The cabin of the F430 blends Ferrari’s racing spirit with touches of luxury, suggesting the possibility that this prancing horse could be used as a daily driver. The seats are covered in fine leather that presents an elegant feel with touches of brushed aluminum, which compliment the curves of the dash panel. Large, well-placed paddles mounted on the steering column allow the driver to shift through gears in as little as 150 milliseconds, which is less than half the time it takes for the average human eye to blink.

The driver can customize driving preferences by adjusting the console-mounted manettino, that loosely translates to mean little handle or little manager. This rotary knob has 5 levels; each level alters the stability of the vehicle while also changing the level of aggression. The five positions assist the driver by making adjustments to shock valving, shifting speed and traction-control. In other words, set the level at zero and have full control of the vehicle, or turn the level to 5 and the car practically drives itself.

The engine of the Ferrari F430 is a 4.3L V8, derived from a collaborative effort between Ferrari and Maserati. This new engine took Ferrari in a completely different direction than previous variants of the Dino racing program, first developed in the 1950s. This 60 year development cycle between Dino and Ferrari came to an end with the creation of the 4.3L V8. This motor is expected to replace almost all Dino-derived V12 motors. The 4.3L V8 produces 490 horsepower at an screeching 8,500 rpm, illustrating the F430’s high performance pedigree. This allows the F430 to deliver 343 foot pounds of torque, with a top speed of 198 mph. The power plant of the F430 produces a horsepower to liter ratio of 114 bhp per liter. When comparing 0 to 60 times with the F360, Ferrari F430 drops 0 to 60 in just 3.9 seconds, which is 0.4 seconds faster than the F360.

The race is very quickly 4 laps is not good enough!

I organized this trip for the my 50th birthday and brought along 3 additional friends one of which was also a returning driver to Exotic. This was my 3rd time driving at Exotic Racing and I did enjoy this trip, but I was very disappointed in 2 areas. I initially purchased 15 laps in the Ferrari F430 and I spoke with my instructor, ***(?), multiple times about wanting to break up the 15 laps into (3)5 lap experiences. I wanted to be able to drive the course over 5 laps and then come back to the paddock to discuss my driving and the course with my instructor. What actually occurred was once I was on the track my instructor just kept me on the track and used "all" my laps in one shot. And to make matters worse once I reviewed my driving video I was only provided 14 laps not 15! Instead of being able to regroup 2 times and discuss my driving and get more comfortable with the each turn, I simply had one experience. This was very disappointing after having discussed this with my instructor multiple times. I was also supposed to be provided an extra lap for each time I had previously driven with you. I wasn't provided either of these 2 additional laps and I was robbed of 1 lap in my actual purchase for a total of 3 laps. This is not the way I thought I would be treated as a multiple returning customer who also brought 3 additional drivers with me. I will say your staff is great and very personable. Even though *** didn't follow my request about breaking up my laps and not correctly counting my purchased laps, he was the best driving instructor I have had in the 3 times I have driven in your facility. I provided a generous tip for him afterwards, but I wasn't yet aware that I had not been provided my total laps. Very disappointing. You have an African-American lady who works your front desk who I must give a special acknowledgement. I'm not remembering her name at the moment, but she has an amazing smile and her customer service skills are exceptional. She provided our group with seamless service and seemed to be always on hand to answer questions or get our group whatever we needed. She deserves a raise and some special commendation. It is so rare to actually get great customer service these days, but she exceeded all of our expectations. I will definitely return to Exotic for more racing time, but I sincerely hope you take corrective action so my disappointing experience is not repeated with other customers. *** San Diego, CA

Inconsistency in drive along instructors. 2 of the 3 that I had were great - encouraging and helpful. One, however, was barking out directions and made for miserable experience.

I had made reservations for the drive. There were two groups that dropped in while I was there that bumped me to the end. My reservation was 10:30 and I didn’t drive till almost noon. The driving coach was great and the experience of driving was great. Scheduling has a bit to be desired. I’ll probably try a different company next year. ***

Just the fact that EXR exists is a tribute to America ! Cars were good. Nannies/Instructors(understandably) programmed to keep wear and tear down on these precious machines.Track : very good; Certicate had 1 car wrong (McC 720 not listed) "communication problem"on the day before :told by 2 staff members on May 1 that McC 720 "had a blown engine"; I substituted a Huracan. Making it worse was the fact that the same thing happened to me in 2014 on my first EXR. We spend months bragging on the fact that we'll be driving McClarens to our motorsports buddies. Then.... My trip (driving a 30 year old motor home from SC was to drive the McClarens. Luckily the 720 magically appeared on 5/2!

Overall for the money I was slightly disappointed in my experience. Not to the point I am not willing to try it again but it definitely was not what was expected. First off, I am aware they were very busy when we arrived but the website said to allow for 2 hours and we were there 4.5 hours in total. Also, with how busy they were we felt extremely rushed and over processed through the entire experience. This was furthered when I felt I was shorted a lap and asked my instructor to double check how many we did. He assured me we completed the 7 I paid for. To follow up I asked the gal at the check out counter to review my individual lap times so I could know for sure I had received what I paid for. She also confirmed I completed 7. Later when I checked my times on the Michelin board I noticed it listed I had completed 6 laps in total. I wouldn’t have been upset had they said we made a mistake and offered a resolution whatever that may be, but instead it came across that two employees lied to my face and offered no transparency into what had happened. The other thing that bothered me was they ask you to tell your instructor your experience level prior to getting on track. I notified my instructor I race competitively and am extremely comfortable on track and yet there were multiple occasions where he yanked the steering wheel to change my line mid corner aside from the times we were passing (which I was made aware of in the briefing). One area I would certainly say could be improved would be a less invasive instruction approach for more experienced drivers, and a more transparent overview of laps provided. Even low level go kart facilities are able to provide lap by lap telemetry. I will return in the future and hope for a slightly different experience.

There needs to be more organization at this facility. We checked in with one person, paid with another, checked into the video with another, then check in with another desk. We had to wait around for someone to call our names. Then we had the check in with the test lap crew, then more waiting around. Then got to check in the car. Then after the ride we had to go to the fisrt girl to add another car to drive then another to pay for it.... then when we wanted to do the drifting ride along we had to check in at another booth and wait around. then we went to drive the go carts but coupldnt do that until we checked out of the sports car side... but we couldnt check out of the sports car side without looking at the video and then making purchase of the video. then we went back to the go kart side and had to make another payment and fill out another waiver. It would be nice to check in at one point and then you can hold our credit card until we are done all the options. There was so many stations and so many directions it makes it difficult to add experiences or really enjoy the time there. A little more organization would go a very long way. We really liked that you could walk among the cars and sit in them and take pictures! that was GREAT! Thank you for offering such a great experience.

The experience was good but could have been better. I didn’t like sitting in the backseat of the Cayman for the introduction laps as it made me feel disoriented and threw my equilibrium off before I was to go out and take my laps. In addition the instructions were quick and my instructors was hard to hear. Otherwise I enjoyed it!

September 14 was my second time at EXR. I’ve been to Dream Racing and SpeedVegas since my first experience with you. I came back to EXR because I felt it was the best run, most professional track in Las Vegas. It was my wife’s first time driving and she had a blast. I enjoyed all but one thing. I paid for 7 laps and did not complete 7 laps. I went online to look up our lap times. My wife had 7 laps recorded but I only had 6. When I was finished driving it felt too short, but I chalked it up to focusing on the driving and not counting the laps. Disappointed I did not receive what I had paid for.
