After eight generations, the Porsche 911 Carrera S just keeps getting better. Codenamed 992, the all-new Porsche 911 keeps all of the fundamental ingredients of the most successful sports car ever – a flat-6 engine and a tried and true shape – and then reimagines them into something that is both utterly new yet totally familiar.

The twin-turbo flat-6 engine has been retuned with new valves and new injectors. The body has been sculpted to be a bit lower, sleeker and wider. The gearbox now has one more gear to make it 8 speeds in total. With 23 more horsepower than the previous iteration, the Carrera S goes from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and tops out at 191 MPH.

Behind the wheel it continues to deliver an outstanding driving experience that has earned it the top spot on almost every car ranking ever written. Porsche doesn’t reinvent the 911 just for the sake of it on some pre-determined schedule. Instead they wait until they are sure that they can use the latest engineering and technology at their disposal to improve what is already something great.
