Based on the 296 GTB platform, it abandons the hybrid system of the road car in favor of a high-revving, twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces around 690–700 hp, making it the first Challenge car to use a V6 in the series’ history.  Purpose-built for competition, the 296 Challenge features advanced aerodynamics and optimized chassis dynamics to generate significantly more downforce than its predecessors, along with race-spec suspension, brakes, and Pirelli tires for maximum performance and consistency on track.
